Come da titolo, ieri - 24 agosto 2011 - Steve Jobs ha dato le sue dimissioni e non è più Chief Executive Officer di Apple. La notizia è stata annunciata con la seguente lettera:

August 24, 2011–To the Apple Board of Directors and the Apple Community:

I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.

I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.

As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.

I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.

I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.

cosa ne pensate? secondo me è esattamente come dice steve nella lettera, "Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it." i giorni migliori di Apple sono passati...
Tra l'altro, come sempre, Apple ha perso parecchi punti percentuali dopo l'annuncio...

Tra l'altro, come sempre, Apple ha perso parecchi punti percentuali dopo l'annuncio...

Veramente Steve Jobs ha detto l'esatto contrario e cioè che i giorni più luminosi e più innovativi di Apple devono ancora venire.

In ogni caso sono veramente dispiaciuto di leggere le sue poche parole. Nel bene o nel male, è un uomo che ha dato tantissimo ai computer.

Anni fa ammetto che lo detestavo, quando gonfiavano i benchmark dei mac powerpc (erano evidentemente meno performanti delle controparti pc, per poi ammettere la cosa anni dopo!) soprattutto... Poi pian piano, dopo esserne uscita un decennio fa abbondante, la "mela" è rientrata prepotentemente nella mia vita e dubito ci lasceremo di nuovo per cui...
