How to fix corrupted Savedata in a minute
Introduction
Unfortunately, while updating to some Firmware (especially in the past, going from CustomFirmware 5.00m33 to 5.50GenD3, but there're various other case reported), some savedate can be corrupted.
To overcome this sad problem, where hour and hour of gameplay become rubbish, there are some solutions. The most simple is to use the Plugin MagicSave
What's Needed
MagicSave v3.6
-a PSP which can use Plugin and Homebrew
-Your corrupted savedata
STEPS TO FOLLOW
Note: Take a look at the VIDEO GUIDE!!
- Download MagicSave. Extract in and copy in your MemoryStick this way: directory MagicSave must be in the root(main directory ) of you Memory Stick. In /seplugins/ must be placed the file *.prx and the file GAME.txt, if there's not already because you're using other plugins:if you've it, open with a Text Editor and add this string
ms0:/seplugins/MagicSave.prx 1 for PSP 1000-2000-3000
or
ef0:/seplugins/MagicSave.prx 1 if you own a PspGo
If you've copied the file in my download, the button used by the plugin will be:
(-) and (+) together( volume buttons) : make MagicSave menu appear in your game.
SQUARE [ ] = confirm
TRIANGLE / \= back
- Now start your game with the corrupted savedata: save doesn't work
- Press both volume buttons (-) and (+) so that the menu will appear. Now select Save Data with [ ]
- Select Read Invalid Data and press [ ]
- Activate that option: the square left to Enable must be checked, look at the image, then set both SFO file and Decrypt to Type 2: this will probably work.
Note: If you'll encounter problems and you can't load your savedata, try other combination (ex. Decrypt 3, SFO 2 etc).
Now press Triangle three times to exit MagicSave.
- Load your savedata: now it's working!!
- Last thing: you've to enter again MagicSave menu, Disable "Read Invalid Data"(look again at the image) and then save again the game(it's ok to overwrite the data) so that you've no more to use Magic and your file is totally fixed.
Note: Buttons can be changed editing file ms0:/MagicSave/Config/default.ini
If you need to enter the menu before the game automatically loads a save system, edit Default.ini setting Menu_Stop_Other to True . So you can pause the game before it loads a file system.
